A belated good and bad review of a kung fu vampire flick
Oi vey... this was pretty much a disappointment. I thought, "hmm, Donnie Yen and Jackie Chan are involved, lots of action, vampires, a decent budget, and two hot chicks... this'll be GREAT!"
Well, it's not Donnie's best work, Jackie appears only in as a cameo, the action is nothing earth shattering, the vampires were kinda weak, and the chicks really weren't that hot. That said, the movie is worth seeing if you don't go in with too-high expectations. I was expecting to love the film and I just didn't. Instead, I walked away with short lists of good and bad...

Action Choreography by Donnie Yen.
Guest appearance by Jackie Chan.
Anthony Wong was fucking hysterical as the wussy noble vampire's caretaker.
Wasn't nearly as bad as the "Korean Matrix" Ressurection of the Little Match Girl (which was so bad that I didn't even want to finish watching it).

A little too much goofy Asian humor.
Not enough plot. (Yes, I asked for more plot in a kung fu vampire flick.)
Just how often can pop stars (the Twin Idols) carry an action flick? (Yes, it happens more frequently than you can possibly imagine in Asia.)
STUPID ENDING.

Honestly, if you were going to spend money on only one import DVD today, I'd suggest picking up Azumi instead.
