Fawnia: Exotic Dancer, Fitness Model, and More
by Stephen Lin, Editor in Chief
July 5, 2004 + Boston, MA

Multi-talented and ultra hot!
The Art of Exotic DancingLate last year, I became acquainted with Fawnia when I was "researching" nifty things for our 2003 Holiday Gift Suggestions articles (for guys and for gals). Around the same time, we also gave her a plug for producing wonderful instructional exotic dance videos.

Since then, I've discovered that Fawnia is an absolute sweetheart! This gorgeous blond Canadian is full of positive attitude and ambition. A former Miss Nude who's appeared in Playboy and on The X-Files (a winning combination if I've ever seen one), Fawnia is hard at work writing, acting, and producing a variety of projects yet still managed to find the time in her busy schedule participate in this interview.

Read on for the article you, the geeky Newmoanyeah readership, inadvertently demanded. Hey, Web stats don't lie. If you EVEN begin to argue with that statement, then you are said geeky readership. Shut up and enjoy! And be sure to read all three pages (1, 2, and 3)!

Stephen: What is the difference between an Exotic Dancer and a Stripper?

Fawnia: Both terms can mean the same, however I would grant the girl who does her best to actually entertain with talent, the true exotic dancer. Strippers may more often be the girl who simply struts across the stage with very little effort. She may look perfect with the cosmetically correct breasts and legs to match. Either way, strippers and exotic dancers work hard for their money and deal with more then their share of hassles.

Stephen: How did you first become involved in Exotic Dancing?

Fawnia: It was my 19th birthday and my boyfriend and I were at "Monty's Showroom Pub" in Victoria, B.C. Canada. He knew I was really needing to make some money, and while we were enjoying a show, he said "You should do this". "No way, I could never do that!" But by the end of the night, I found myself needing to know who to contact to start dancing. It just seemed right for me, and I couldn't wait to get started.

Stephen: You've won a variety of Miss Nude and Exotic Dancing titles... what differentiated you from your competition?

Fawnia: Fawnia in a pink bikiniThe women were all so beautiful and talented so each time I won, it was a shock. Looking back to when I danced in 95' I remember doing all that I could to have more then just a theme show. I created shows with two themes in each, my best being: Cop to Robber. It was from the music my moves stemmed, performing as much pole work as I could, and holding eye contact with the audience. In fact to me, it was more of a concert that contained nudity. Picture Madonna on stage stripping, that was me.

Before going up, I would go through the show in my mind, thinking of the times in the show when I would change to the other character (angel to devil was another theme). Stepping on stage, meant that I was that character, not Fawnia. I would perform as though I had already won, doing a victory dance. With a performance, that I viewed as winning, earned top marks pretty much every time.
