T3 DVD: Schwarzenegger and Breasts of All Sizes
by Manolo Moreno, A Non-Ukranian Staff Writer
November 24, 2003 + Williamsport, PA

First: Get the Good Out of the Way
T3The only good thing remembered was the expensive car chase. It's the kind of car chase other car chases would gossip about. "Like oh my God," car chase from The Italian Job bickers, "Are those fire trucks real?"

"They're real. If you want fake, look at Matrix: Reloaded. I'm surprised they didn't melt as a summer blockbuster," replies car chase from The Fast and the Furious.

And where the Matrix rises from the "man versus machine" theme by trying to be confusing, Terminator evolves from the idea by generically playing with fatalism. Still, the end of the Terminator trilogy is chillingly satisfying. That is until it sinks back into triteness by the traditional bookend monologue (this time by John Conner, who rambles like his old woman).

Second: Who Cares What T3 is About
T3: Rise of the Machines stars two young actors seasoned in small dramatic films and uses them to sell the believability of this science fiction fantasy. The movie tried to market itself to go against the trendiness of graceful kung fu and opted for its all American slugfest stylings, which is apparently defined as "cheesy one liners and breaking walls and floors." It also takes place mostly in the day and pushes the comedic envelope to rival an Olsen Twin project. Therefore, T3 trades the ominous grit of the first two films for brightly toned scenes, making this sequel feel like an expensive tv mini-series or the back end of the Robo Cop saga.

Third: This is What Makes it a Classic
Arnold has just become some governor in some God forsaken state. And these days, the perks of being a governor is that he can wear a suit and have his own I've been groped by the governor club, which includes a hotline, free t-shirts, and discounts on all Schwarzenegger movies.

And with the rise of allegations, Rise of the Machines just coming out on DVD is perfect timing. One can have so much fun listening to Arnold's part of the commentary in the context of the recent controversy. He not only spends time talking about his body well after his naked Terminator scenes go by, but he also talks about the sexiness of his "Terminatrix" rival as well as how women would prefer to adjust the size of their breasts, according to the kinds of men they want to attract. I've never had this much fun with someone who over-elaborates in nature.

Discovering the commentary track of this DVD is like discovering the secret level of a video game. Whether you like action movies or turning boring scenes into commentary amusement, this DVD is well worth the renting price.
