Best National Anthem Ever
So, ever since The Dixie Chicks tossed off their 3-way a cappella National Anthem at this past years Super Bowl, the media has declared it "the best ever." Sunday night, July 27th, Fenway Park topped that anthem. As the Red Sox and the NY Yankees waited to take the field for the rubber match of the nail-biting series, the 33,000+ sold out crowd in the Green Monster heard an all-too-familiar timbre. In relation to the new Sox owners' reference to the Yankees as "the evil Empire," James Earl Jones recited the National Anthem.
How freakin' cool is that?
Coincidently, the Sox went on to come from behind in the 7th to win it 4-3. Go Rebel Alliance... er, I mean Red Sox!
