The Matrix Reloaded

Whoa!
The Matrix Reloaded PosterOkay, sure... there are billions of Matrix Reloaded reviews out there on the web. And yes, the other reviews were much more timely. This one is here at the behest of one of our loyal readers because they actually want to know what we think.

Since none of the other staffers tackled it, I figured I might as well give my two cents. Oh Hell, I'll give you ten:

  1. Reloaded had the best chase scene ever filmed. The unique camera angles blew me away.

  2. Was it just me, or did the fight between Neo and the Oracle's Asian pal seem totally unnecessary?

  3. Morpheus' speech (and outfit) in Zion was hysterical. I just couldn't take him seriously the way he was melodramatically bellowing something or other. Especially since the speech was promptly followed by a primitive rave-orgy.

  4. Were the twins the Darth Maul of this movie or what?

  5. Similar to how they explained deja vu in The Matrix, I kind of liked how Reloaded explained ghosts, werewolves, and vampires.

  6. Did anyone else find the Architect's spiel a little confusing?

  7. Can anyone else say, "Matrix within a Matrix?" Maybe?

  8. The Paul Oakenfold remix of Dave Matthews' "When the World Ends" (played during the closing credits) totally kicks ass. I hope Dave-purists aren't offended by it being un-DMB-ish, because it's a brilliant remix.

  9. The story and character development didn't flow quite as nicely in the sequel. However, the action was top shelf, top dog, and top notch all the way! HOWEVER, I wasn't as impressed with the fights of Reloaded as I was with the fights of The Matrix. The technical advancements of The Matrix were just much greater comparitively. Reloaded didn't make as large a jump in the "Holy Shit! Did they just do that?" factor. But again, it's still VERY impressive and worth seeing (at least twice).

  10. To all the playa haters: don't be a snooty critic. If it was entertaining, then it was entertaining. It was NOT a faultless movie and it certainly wasn't as structurally sound as the original, but it is undeniably entertaining.

Whoa again!
If this review wasn't satisfying enough, please read what Troy's Bucket and Theater Hopper had to say. I really liked their takes.
