Ah, don't you just LOVE new toys?
Justice League Action FiguresThere hasn't been a full line release of Justice League action figures since the Super Friends back in the 80's. The current team consists of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hawk Girl (hopefully, one of these days someone at DC will explain to me why Diana is the only WOMAN and all other females are only girls), Martian Manhunter, Flash and Green Lantern. You can catch their adventures on the Cartoon Network.

What's in the package?
These figures don't have lots of articulation (simple head, arm and leg movement), so they are pretty basic, but still fun for kids to play with and to display on their shelves. One neat feature is instead having accessories (which are usually stupid and not at all to scale with the toy; so, you either trash 'em or lose 'em and don't really care about them) they come with a base-stand (that, combined with all the other character's stands, spells out Justice League). They also come with a card to put behind each character as a backdrop. So, once you collect the entire set, they'll look really cool!

Why is everyone looking for them?
The first wave included Supes, Bats, Green Lantern and Flash. Two figures were supplied in abundance (guess which?), making the other two short-packed (meaning only one or two of GL and Flash in each case of something like 20 toys). So, the Fastest Man on Earth and GL became highly sought after toys. Now, with the new wave, we're searching for Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman. (I got WW yesterday -- should have seen me doing my Happy Toy Dance in Target!) We're also on the look out for new versions of Batman and Superman (sporting new paint jobs… don't ask me why). The weird thing about these updates, is that their costumes look a lot like the ones seen in Kingdom Come, a comic that takes place in the future. (I HIGHLY recommend picking up the trade paperback book of this).

So, for the comic book lovers in your life, you might want to pick up their favorite JL member. Or get one for yourself (great for your car, desk at work). Better yet, buy one for some cool little kid you know and make their day!

Who would you most like to see as the lead in Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman movie?
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Eliza Dushku
Sandra Bullock
Aria Giovanni
Summer Glau
Eva Longoria
Evangeline Lilly
Lynda Carter
