This Ain't Yer Pappy's Wild West
Controversy creates hype. Hype leads to selling comics. Selling comics... leads to suffering! (Waitaminute, scratch that last comment.)

But, controversy does sell comics. And for some reason, controversy involving homosexuality in comics ends up in the news.

Quite frankly, we don't see what's so news-worthy about Marvel reinventing the Rawhide Kid as a gay cowboy. However, the comic is somewhat grudgingly unique in its own entertainingly-flamboyant-gay-gunsligner-in-the-wild-west kind of way.

The "well-dressed cowboy" and sexual innuendo jokes are worth a cheap laugh, if nothing else.
