Fanboy Radio: Interviewing the Interviewer Part 2
byJosh Fialkov, Bathroom Obsessed Staff Writer

What makes a fanboy?
Fanboy RadioWhen you first meet Scott you think he's just a nice regular guy. He's certainly not the Simpson's Comic Book Guy, nor does he have a mullet and Star Wars T-Shirt. But, beneath that boy next door veneer, beats the heart of raving, drooling fanboy.

Newmoanyeah: Yeah... what are you most embarrassed about when you tell people you are a "fanboy?"
Scott Hinze: Well, once I got back into the hobby... I went a little apeshit and bought every comic with an official appearance of Spidey villan Venom. And thanks to the so-so Tsunami re-launch, looks like my black Venom long box will get even more full.

(Scott tries to go on about Venom for a few more moments, until I remind him that Venom is a watered down, over-exposed, mediocre villain, who couldn't hold a candle to Green Goblin or Doc Ock, he huffs, and settles down.)

NMY: What's was your proudest Fanboy moment?
SH: Proudest?
NMY: When you're like "Damn it feels good to be a fanboy!"
SH: I think... it's a tie: Reading Understanding Comics for the first time at Wizard World Chicago 2001 and setting up my first booth this summer at San Diego 2003. That was awesome! Also - wandering around all the LA comic shops and being treated like a superstar was pretty nice too. Once I gave my card to the cynical shop owners, many of their ears perked up.
NMY: What's been the biggest perk of doing the show for you?
SH: Being able to ask the questions I want to guys like Quesada, Bendis, Rucka, Waid, Barruci, McLaughlin, Cotton, Casey... the real movers and shakers.
SH: Oh wait a second... let me pick up those names I just dropped.
NMY: Good work dude. You failed to mention the copious amounts of Fangirls groping you!
SH: Actually just the one. My girlfriend Britta is pretty much the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life and the only reason I had the balls to ask her out was because when you host a radio show about comic books - you really don't have anything to lose.
