Jack Chick has been the world's leading Bible tract creator for the past three decades -- spreading the word on fundamental Christianity with his mini comic books of propaganda. And like unabridged Cliff Notes, here is a stroll through one of his latest great tales:
In the Beginning
List of Characters:
Smug Hitler
Smug is Jack Chick's star in his latest series of Bible tracts. He has the super power of converting anyone into fundamentalist Christianity with his smugness.
Jason
Smug Hitler's roomie and subservient partner. Although educated in college, he has the fragile esteem of a descriptive man's analogy for malleable things.
Brief Synopsis of the Tract
Jason enters the room with their shared sex toy and expresses the age of this dinosaur-shaped dildo. Smug is thrown into a tangent on the true creation of the universe according to the Bible, thus once again rocking his boyfriend's world.
Smug Hitler explains that "evolution is the religion of scientists who laugh at God" and that these scientists are only guessing. Jason throws out questions in the defense of the scientists, but Smug rebuts as he refers from his Bible – also known as the Book of Facts.
He explains to Jason that the creation of the universe obviously began on day one. This information forces Jason's head to vibrate as well as the dildo to switch on. Smug further explains that man and dinosaurs were created on the sixth day (a-doi).
Smug also paints the picture of how animals were back then. One story stars a happy go-lucky pig named Babe. He then tells Jason of man's first toy of pleasure, and also talks about Satan being a sophisticated dinosaur who tempts Eve and Adam with Calzones of Evil.
Smug Hitler continues to splurge unto Jason a storm of facts on the creation of the universe until the naive college student is left on his knees–wiping something off his face... for young Jason has been converted into the world of fundamental Christianity!
Tract Commentary
It is obvious that Jack Chick is trying to portray the dominance his character, Smug Hitler, has in relationships. Smug cares about his lover, but almost to a mentally abusive fault. Knowing about his lover's dependencies, he creates scenarios over Jason to make sure his power remains. In this instance, he is shooting down Jason's beliefs that were founded into him through academic education. With the collapse of his well being, Jason has succumbed under Smug Hitler's control and is forced to seek him out for emotional security. And therefore, the dynamics in the relationship portrayed is that Smug Hitler is the overbearing dominant figure to Jason's dependent tendencies in this same sex relationship. Jack Chick has done his job.
