Parking at Supermarkets

This is clearly going to be a rant.
What a trauma.
I'll let you know what I think of supermarket parking right up front... it sucks. A lot.
How hard is it to park BETWEEN the lines. Not ON them. Not ACROSS them. BETWEEN them.
Why?
This seems to be a phenomenon that appears most frequently at your local supermarkets. If you don't believe me, look for yourself. You'll see entire rows without a single car parked appropriately between the lines.
Most people simply can't drive properly. Even moreso in the Boston area, but hey, you get used to it.
But, you'd think that even half of world's worst drivers ought to be able to park a sub-compact car between two stationary lines. I'm beginning to think that there's some kind of Bermuda Triangle-like conspiracy going on (where regardless of how you park, your car ends up skewed in the parking space).
Solution!
I think everyday citizens ought to be allowed to issue hand-written tickets that state "You parked like a jackass and are essentially taking up two spaces instead of one. Cut the crap."
While this solution clearly wouldn't help, it might make me feel better. |
