My Buddy Jabba
by Stephen Lin, Editor in Chief

Needed One More Article...
Beanie Jabba the Hutt of Star WarsBack in 1997, Kenner released a line of toys called Star Wars Buddies. I'm guessing this was Kenner's way of targeting the Sci-Fi Geek/Beanie Baby cross-over market.

It just so happens that I possess one of these buddies. My buddy is Jabba the Hutt.

Hey Buuuuuuddy!
You see, I have another buddy. A human buddy! His name is Joel (who happens to be the newmoanyeah Curious Staff Writer).

Joel, for some reason, bought me Jabba as a Christmas gift. And over the past five years, I've come to appreciate my buddy, Jabba more and more.

Not Just Cute
Not only is Jabba cute and cuddly (well, sorta), he's also a good paper-weight. He's just heavy enough to keep the papers from flying all over the place when I've got the A/C cranked. He also makes a wonderful monitor ornament. Jabba sits quite handsomely atop my secondary computer (an ancient iMac).

And he's also good for some comic relief. I periodically come home to find Jabba wearing sunglasses or a guitar dust cloth like a sarong. Now, whether this is Jabba's or my girlfriend's doing, I'll let you decide. Either way, it's pretty funny.

Anyhoo
This looks like enough of an article for space filler. I'd recommend to everyone, purchasing a Star Wars Buddy (you'll probably have to go on eBay, though). I think people who own Star Wars Buddies end up living longer... kinda like pet owners.

So, I'd just like to say thanks to my buddy Joel for getting me my other buddy Jabba.

May the force be with you... always.
