Kelly Should Win

Guilty Pleasure
Okay, I'll admit that I've been following the weekly American Idol results. And though I haven't watched every Idol program (REALLY!), I have managed to pick-up on the general pulse of the program.
As such, I figured I'd chime in on this guilty pleasure before tomorrow's winner is announced. (Yeah, I know there are all sorts of manly he-stud types out there watching this program, even if only to hear Simon insult people. So, I don't want to hear any crap!)
Quite Simply
If Kelly Clarkson doesn't win tonight, it will be the second most ridiculous decision made by American voters on this show. The first most ridiculous is obviously (OBVIOUSLY) Tamyra Gray being eliminated before Nikki McKibbin. Tamyra was easily one of the strongest singers in the competition. While Nikki had a nice rock flair about her, she was the weakest in the final four.
But back to Kelly. She out sang and outperformed Justin Guarini. Period. The judges thought so and the live audience seemed to think so. And gosh darn it, my girlfriend and I thought so, too!
Not the end of the world if...
If Justin were to win, it wouldn't be the most horrible decision. I had initially feared, when this program began, that the winner could easily ended up being the cutest, most talentless person in the competition. Fortunately, it came down to two people who could sing.
I swear some of the final ten contestants only lasted as long as they did because there was someone less appealing to the teeny-boppers of America. But at least tonight, there's some hope of overall redemption by naming Kelly the American Idol.
