Episode II at IMAX
December 19, 2002
Back to the Future
Due to some minor scheduling issues, we're running two plugs this week. While this technically makes this entry an "emergency" plug, it does not make the plug any less plug-worthy than previous plugs. In fact, this may be one of the most pluggalicious plugs we've ever plugged before.
That said, what we're plugging is Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (at an IMAX theatre near you). Certainly, all the digital filming and special effects in the world will not make the prequels as wonderful as the original trilogy. However, the IMAX version of AotC is DEFINITELY worth experiencing.
It's almost like seeing a completely different film from the theatrical release. The editors did a fantastic job of modifying the film to fully utilize the format of IMAX's "different" aspect ratio (think BIG). You'll see stuff that you didn't see the first time around. And to further enhance your viewing pleasure, by cutting a bunch of fairly inconsequential things, the editors quicken the pace of AotC.
Go see it now. (Less Jar Jar) + (Less frolicking) = Cool.
